WHO?
Chrissy Croft, LCSW (she/her) is a poet, lifelong writer, social worker specializing in community mental health, escape room enthusiast, and gluten intolerant foodie. She is a high-energy performer with the ability to evoke both excitement and deep reflection. Her poems span relevant topics including her own experiences with body image, mental health, queer identity, religious trauma, and belonging. She won the 2017 National Poetry Slam and placed second at the 2025 Big Foot Regional Poetry Festival as part of The San Diego PoetrySLAM Team. Chrissy is a two-time San Diego Gladiator Slam Champion (2024 and 2025). In 2017, CityBeat Magazine named her one of the Best People in San Diego for her poetry and mental health advocacy. Chrissy has been mentored and coached by world-renowned poet Rudy Francisco and is honored to be part of the poetry community in San Diego. Chrissy is passionate about social work and making mental health services accessible to everyone, especially people with economic barriers and stigmatized mental health diagnoses. When she’s not working or writing, she is spending time with her cats and fairytale wife.
